Can you edit a website after you publish it?
Yes, you can edit a website as many times as you like after you publish it. It is something that is very easy to do especially if you are using a website builder like Zyro, WordPress, Wix, Shopify, Squarespace, Weebly, or Podia.
The Technicality required to edit a website after publishing it will depend on the platform that you use for your website hosting. It is generally very easy to edit and publish your website with web builders than with platforms like AWS, Linode, Github, Heroku, etc.
There are two main ways in which you can edit your website after publishing. If you are using a website builder, you just have to click a publish button once you are done editing your theme or template, the rest of the heavy lifting is done for you by the platform that you are using.
If you have built your own website from scratch, the process is a lot bit different but it is still very easy. All you have to do is to download the files that you want to edit from your website hosting provider, then edit the file and upload it to the same directory that you downloaded it from.
For example, if you are using Namecheap, you can use the following process to edit files on your website and publish the changes:
- Log in to your account with your logging credentials

- Go to hosting List
- Click the drop-down on your domain and select Go to CPanel
- Click File Manager on the FILES section

- Go into the public_html folder. This is where all your website files (HTML, CSS, JS, and more) will be located.
- Find the file you want to edit and download it.
- Once you are done editing the file, you can go back to the public_html folder where you downloaded the file. Make sure it is in the same directory that you downloaded it from.
- Upload the file and the changes will be published on your website.
This process is going to be similar for many web hosting companies, you will not have problems editing your website even if you are using a different web hosting company from the one that I used in this example.
If you will be making a lot of changes to your website, consider using a website builder like Zyro or WordPress. With Zyro, you can make changes to your website quickly and easily without any technical or coding skills required.
All you have to do is drag and drop the component you want to edit. Once you are done, you can click save or publish. If you do not like the changes that you have made, you can easily roll back to the previous settings without breaking anything.
Ultimately, whether your website is hosted on shared hosting, AWS, google cloud or any other web hosting platform, you can make as many changes as you like to your website after you publish it. The process may be different and more technical on some platforms but you can still edit your website after you publish it.
