How to Filter By Color in Google Sheets
Filtering your data by Text Color or Fill Color is very easy and straight forward to do in Google Sheets.
Consider the table below with employee names, departments, and the country they are working from.
The Departments and Countries are color-coded using conditional formatting as shown below.
To filter by color, highlight your entire data table, then go to “Create a Filter” and click on it.
Your data will have filter icons applied to every column.
To filter by Fill Color, click the filter icon in the column of interest (in our case its DEPT), then choose “Filter by Color” > Click on “Fill Color” > and select the fill color that you want.
Your data will be filtered by the Selected fill color
To filter by text color, click on the filter icon in the column of interest (in our case it’s COUNTRY), then choose “Filter by Color” > Click on “Text Color” > and select the text color that you want.
At this point, your data will be filtered by the selected text color.
